Hi everyone! I am Brynn Hanson (she/her), and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist through the
College of Alberta Psychologists.
Calgary has been my home for the past 8 years and has provided a new lens to my understanding of
community.
I integrate a few different approaches in my work such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and
Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) while also leaning on aspects from other modalities depending on what
best suits each individual. My areas of focus are, anxiety, depression, relational difficulties,
adjustment/life transitions, and effects related to COVID (i.e., isolation, self-doubt, social skills etc.)
If you are interested in reaching out to see if we could be a good fit, please don’t hesitate to book a
complimentary phone consultation. At that time, I can answer a few of your questions to determine if
we may be the right fit to continue into therapy together.

As a second generation Chinese-Canadian, I am familiar with the traditional aspects of Chinese culture, and understand the challenges that may arise in the integration of western values into one’s ethnic identity. This duality has acted as a strength in helping me develop a culturally informed perspective. My past experience consists of working with new immigrants and assisting them in navigating these life changes.
My approach to counselling is collaborative and client-centred. I strive to create a supportive, non judgemental space that is welcoming for all individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I am LGBTQ2S+ affirming.
I take an integrative approach to therapy that utilizes interventions informed from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. Additionally, I am trained in providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for the treatment of trauma. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, attachment issues, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), relationship issues, personal growth, stress and burnout, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition to providing individual therapy to adults, I have a special interest in working youth and adolescents.
I truly believe that we all have the capacity for growth. Together, we will learn what works for you and therapy will be tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. Let’s work as a team to get you to where you want to be. If you have any questions or simply want to see if we would be a good fit, I invite you to reach out for a complementary telephone consult. I can’t wait to meet you!
